Shut Up and Sing

The Dixie Chicks documentary about their infamous statement:

"I'm embarrassed that the President of the United States comes from Texas."

A comment so treasonous, that this documentary is 1/2 about the statement and 1/2 about... well... I don't know what.

Their manager is rude and abrasive, though.

And their publicist thinks Americans are stupid.

If the documentary mentioned anything else, I missed it when I walked away from the screen to type this.

The Last Legion

Absolutely clumsy.

How you screw up a movie with this many good actors, with this title, about Uther Pendragon as a Caesar... well... it's a mystery.

But this is about as ass a production of any King Arthur related movie as anything the Lifetime channel would have produced.

Perhaps this should have been a Disney Sunday Night Movie.

Man. I just want to punch so many people in the head for ruining this movie.

Nice. Very nice.

Judd Apatow should just produce and not direct, because this one is better than his other two films.

Michael Cera is awesome, even though his humor is more subtle than the others. And Seth Rogan is obviously a better writer than actor.

Excellent movie.

Garage Days

Excellent production value and direction. It is not formulaic, nor is the pacing easy to watch. In fact, according to an IMDB reviewer…

Script-wise, this is a soggy mess. There are three people credited with the story, which makes sense as there are at least three movies stitched together. My guess is that Dave Warner wrote a comedy, Alex Proyas penned a tragedy, and Michael Udesky scribbled in a notebook while tripping on liquid acid. Then each of them tore out every fourth page of his script, threw the remaining pages up in the air, and stapled the resulting mess together.
And normally, I would agree, but somehow I liked this one. Don't ask me why.

Sadly, bad marketing ruined this movie's potential.

Completely, the movie is only about a 3 out of 5. But it's really well-made for such a low-budget film.
